New Performance Center M&P w/ Ported Barrel

Got mine at around 1,000 + rds in my ported core with burris fast fire and all I can say is I have shots tons of pistols and this is my fav so far especially for the price. However the trigger could be improved but I will verify it gets back on target faster than a regular m&p for me! Just shot my buddies reg core and moine last week mine was faster for me he has a trijicon rmr on his so both of us have red dot.

Lots of odd or misleading comments on this thread. First, the 3 COREs that I owned before today, shoot groups as small as any 9 mm can. I can't do better with my Kimber Team Match II.
The 9 mm cartridge is high pressure and will never download to soft-ball .45 ACP level and reliably function firearms designed for this cartridge. If you chose 9 mm, you would be hard pressed to find better accuracy than the M&P series offer.
I just purchased the ported version of the CORE today. I should be able to shoot it on Monday morning. Observations so far is that the standard trigger is improved, especially the trigger stop. This version may not require an Apex Trigger. Will report back, but this should be the best M&P version ever for competition.

I still went with the Apex.... that super curved trigger didnt work for me....everyone's feel is different though

Unimpressed with ported 9 mm

I recently purchased a ported 9 mm CORE. I have 3 other COREs, and I must say that reduction in recoil is negligible at best. I was testing for function before installing an Apex trigger and optic. The trigger travel and reset is improved, but the pull is still on the heavy side, so the trigger needs help.
This is the first M & P I have ever shot that was not pretty much spot-on with the iron sights (I own 7 of them). This gun shoots 5 inches low and 2 inches left at 7 yards. There should be no manufacturer assumption that an optic is for sure going on the gun. What good is co-witness if your iron and your red dot are no where near each other?
Final analysis, for $75 more, why not? They look cool! There is no rush to replace your current CORE for one of these.

Groo here
As much as I might like the M&P core
I can't get one in 45 acp so I will look at an xdm 5.25.

What is a good price for these (PC ported)? I saw a 5" for $738, at a recent gun show. Didn't know if that was a good price, as it was the first I've seen.

I only have 50 rounds through mine, but the trigger is crisp, I like it so far, the reset is on the money for me out of the box.

Took a while to find a delta point in stock, but this will be the first time I have tried a reflex on a pistol.

I went with the largest backstrap insert, feels better in my hand, good to have options!

My other comp gun is an XD/M 5.25 9, and I am liking the Smith better so far - nothing wrong with the XD though...although the trigger is nowhere near the Smith's. I will be doing a Powder River kit in the XD soon.

I was also lucky to purchase the Smith when they had the "free three" magazine deal, so I have 5 mags, a custom kydex holster to accommodate the Delta Point and a two-mag holster. Almost ready to go.

I am going to run some critical defense through it to make sure it runs well with that so I can use it for personal defense at home if I choose - since it feels so good and I love the red dot sight (without shooting the piece with it on yet...excited to try it out).

I paid right at $800 for the piece with Illinois tax.

I got mine for $718.00 OTD at a gun show in Des Moines in January 2015. I haven't shot it a lot but the trigger swing is pretty short. The iron sights are dead on with a variety of factory ammo.

I purchased by 9mm M&P Performance Center w/ported barrel in Dec 2014. I have been looking for the Leupold Deltapoint since then and all the dealers I have communicated with do not have it in stock and up to this month, they still do not have it in stock. Would you mind telling me where you purchased your Deltapoint? I am really dying to get my hands on one of them. Thank you so much.
