For some reason, I seem to be gravitating towards semi autos these days. I got this a few weeks ago, and just finished the modifications needed to hopefully make it a great shooter.

The front sight has been replaced with a Hi-Vis green fiber optic compatible with the OEM rear sight.
Volquartsen trigger assembly and bolt rebuild. Trigger is 2.3 pounds.
Volquartsen springs and thumbpieces in the magazines.
Volquartsen extended bolt release
Hogue rubber grips to replace the OEM black plastic

Nice 22lr pistol but sad that an old colt huntsman can be bought for the same kind of many and need nothing to improve . I have both but not sight options for the colt ! Colt has a better stock trigger at 2lb with no perceivable take uo or over travel and when my eye sight was good in my pre 40 year old years shooting 12ga hulls on sticks was a favorite pass time for my wife and me . Mines a 1961 6" huntsman o learned to shot as a 6 year old but sadly today I need a dot optic to shoot small groups with on a handgun. Our 6" Ruger wears a rail and a 2moa ultra dot now with the same trigger kit and lite recoil spring for standard velocity ammo .

My RuQuartsen has many of the same parts as yours and is one of my favorites for just knocking about the woods. I ordered a set of fully checkered stocks from Esmeralda just to dress it up a little. They are supposed to arrive today.

I hope you enjoy your new pistol.

Trying to bench some handguns, but the platforms at Gun World, were not good, for my sandbag.
Will make a variation of this Ransom Rest, that will be adjustable in height, and hold the sandbag.
Large enough for the easy shooting rifles. 22LR, 44Mag, 45Colt, 223/5.56.
For working up loads, and finding the best 22LR ammo.

My wife, bless her heart, has always been willing to try pistol shooting and I've bought several pistols over the years for her but they are always "too heavy" or "too big", or couldn't rack the slide, always one thing or the other. She's also recoil sensitive. Until I picked up this RUGER MKIV. Finally, after 48 years she has her gun.

Don't get me wrong, it's not just a chicks gun. The MKIV is a very cool gun and a big improvement over previous models. Easy to disassemble for cleaning, lots of aftermarket parts. Definitely needed the trigger upgrade. I put the Tandemkross in hers, big improvement. Great shooter, fun gun.

Hey, lookin' good there, Pete!

While some folks complain about why one would want to buy a gun that "needs improvement" out of the box, other folks get a kick out of fixing them up, and refer to the MKIV as "the leggo set" of handguns.

I don't think the MKIV is a bad gun out of the box. It's just an easy gun for the average guy to make better.

I've got an M41 with three bbls, and a First Series Colt Woodsman Sport, but recently bought a MKIV and immediately spiffed it up with the VQ trigger, new grip panels, upgraded extractor and firing pin, 3.5" bbl, Holosun 507C,

and stuck a Bowers suppressor on it..

Other than my carry piece, my guns are for fun, and the MKIV is a lotta fun!

Enjoy it!

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by a friend’s house and he was talking about trading off his MK4. The shop he bought it from offered him $100 on trade. He sold it to me for $200. Of course the Volquartsen trigger kit was $166 but it was a big improvement. IMG_5494.jpeg
