Interesting. I keep looking at the KelTec KSG, but something else always jumps in front. The MSRP is higher than the KSG, and I haven't compared them all that closely yet to see if the S&W offers anything that the KSG doesn't. I'd like to see one in person . . .

It is threaded for choke tubes, if you want that. And it can run the mini shells.

Wow, that was a surprise. S&W is really, really good at controlling leaks. It it was Glock or any other brand we would have heard rumors weeks ago. They must have an NDA the NSA would be proud of.

This isn't a gun I want but it is nice to Smith coming out with something different. The best part of that video was when he said the best is yet to come this year. Not sure what that is but hope it is something I have been hoping for.

I did notice a lot of times the weapon did not fire do to........

not chambering a new load or not ejecting the old.

I hope they solve that problem in the manual that will be sent with the weapon.

What an idiot move.

Introduce something into a niche market already flooded with these kinds of things.

Obviously a company not run by gun people.

Here's a novel thought: maybe introduce a poly PCC carbine.

Oh wait.....folks might buy it.

At this point, I understand totally why many people are only interested in older S & W products.

Meh. You know what would have been cool? A 4th Gen DA/SA polymer pistol that took design cues from both the M&P line and the 3rd gen pistols. M&P 2.0 type grip, frame mounted decocker like a CZ… could have been awesome.

Nice piece, I guess. Wish it would have fired every time the trigger was pulled. Will stay with my two house shotguns, both with 20 inch barrels. A Remington USMC 870 MK 1 and a Winchester Model 12. What I am use to and don't have to stop and look to figure out why it did not fire.

Hope they get the bugs worked out.......

Good luck selling a copy of a KSG against a KSG.

Everybody has their opinions. I would think they may want to put their efforts into guns dealers can't keep in stock. Like 686's, 617's 60's, M&P's with a optic cut…. but what do I know?

I don't think I have ever watched a gun video where the person doing the review had more problems or showed more frustration, and then tried to convince the viewers this is a good gun. That's certainly not a video S&W can be proud of.

As a matter of fact, if I was Kel-Tec I would put that video on my website. :D

All the Keltec haters will buy this because it's not a Keltec.

The pretty boy with muscles and tight T-shirt in the video says it's good, so it's good. The girl in the video is gonna get her hair caught in the mechanism.

I'm sure S&W will sell a boatload of these.

I've been thinking about a KS7 lately. I have no need for a heavy, double mag tube shotgun, but I do see the advantage of a bullpup design. Would essentially replace my TAC-14 12ga as a more shootable compact home defense platform. I really like shooting my TAC-14 20ga, the 12ga not so much.

S&W is trying to steal some of the tacticool KSG market here and likely will succeed, but the question is how much market share is there really to steal. I know quite a few gun folk, none of them own a KSG. I don't see any of them running out to pay hundreds more for a similar S&W model. If the new Smith had been a KS7 style single tube (preferably with a 20ga option) I'd be the first in line.

Not the only design that Kel Tec that has been copied by the larger manufacturers.......
