New Shield 9mm Mag ques

Just bought a new Shield 9mm and it came with two 8 round Mags. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Nope... Got 1 of each.
You can call CS and request a 7. They may, or may not require you to send in one of the 8s.

Welcome from North Carolina. I would call S&W and see if you can get a free one. The 7 round conceals better.

I prefer the 8 myself and have a 7 still in the package if you want to trade. But I'm used to a double stack model 59 so thats where I'm coming from.

Mine came with one of each. I bought 3 more 8 rounders from Quantico Tactical for use at the range.

My shield 40 came with 2 7 round mags. Didn't bother me that much since I really didn't want the flush mag. But I did put a Pearce pinky extension on the 6 round I just bought and honestly like the feel of the flush mag with the pinky extension.

I'd say so too. The 7 conceals better, but the 8 feels better IMO. Considering that a new mag costs between $30-40 then I suggest you embrace your luck.

Not sure how he's lucky, maybe he wanted a 7 rounder. If so, then he is un-lucky.

I'd call S&W, I bet they send you a 7 rounder free.

I sent another and just got the reply. " To have your magazine replaced please mail themagazine in to us at the address below with your name and address".

Think I may have just got mad not sure. Think I will just keep both eights and the grudge.

I'm guessing they've gotten their share of bogus "I only got 1 mag", "I only got X round mags" stories over the years, so now they'll only swap 1 for 1, rather than simply sending out a freebie.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but, not everyone can/should expect to get something for free everytime there is a mix up. Imagine the amount of money a company would lose if said company just started handing out free mags. I was gonna buy another extended mag anyway so getting 2 with mine was no big deal.

If they would have at least offered to pay for shipping I would agree. Might be just me but when I spend 400 bucks for a pistol I expect to get what I paid for. I even sent them a pic of both mags. Oh well guess I will have to be more careful from now on.

I would just take the two mags and forget it. There are a lot of pistols nowdays only come with one mag.

No, A grudge because they never offered to pay shipping on their mistake. No I don't want a free lunch. I can afford to buy a hundred mags if I want but I expect a higher Standard from Smith customer service .
