Picked up a new ported Shield this week; and snuck in some range time this am. Was very pleased on how it ran out of the box. Actually never shot a Shield before but have a lot of rounds thru my full size and compact 9s. So for my first outing with it, using my normal 115fmj UMC and Blazer Brass i couldnt be happier with the initial results. Kept my distance at 6-7 yds, wanted to get used to the gun before trying other yardage. But i give it 2 thumbs up.

Edit i see the pic was rotated and cant seem to fix from my phone but all shots were not low/left.

You shoot a good tight group to the left at eight o'clock. Congratulations

Thanks. Actually if pic didnt rotate when i saved the thread the shots were more in the 10 o'clock area. But with my ever learning skills and grandpa eyes anytime i get most hits in the 9 or 10 target rings when i am in the 6-10 yd range i am very happy.
I have to say the PC is easy to shoot

The wife rarely hits the range with me and usually doesnt like shooting my 9's. But she actually asked to use the Shield more than one mag worth and again at 6 yds i think did very well, her target pic below and it should be oriented with the letters upright (I've only been shooting less than 4 yrs and she has less experience than that). So if she is ok with it that speaks volumes lol.
We both found we could rack the slide easy enough though use a uplula to load them so cant really comment on whats it is like to load by hand.

You right I just enlarge the target picture. Talking bout grandpa eyes,i know what you mean at 66 years old,Me! :D

i'm sure this is a dumb post lol but as I've not yet tried/used any holsters (and if/when i carry this PC will be it) -- I wonder if the front sight type has any affect on the holster choice or if any Shield holster will work.

I'll have to keep an eye on the forum as more owners pick up a PC model to see what their choices are for holster use.

No issues for my PC 9 with my blackhawk arc appendix carry holster, deep sight channel.

Bought one for my wife. She loves it. I shot it and then bought one for myself. Easiest and most accurate gun I've ever shot by far.

Congrats on the ported Shield. Thought about getting one myself, but my 9mm Shield is just fine as is. Did find that it takes about 200 rounds for the POI to settle in. I'm a lefty and all mine go right of center at about 4 o'clock. Could adjust the sights, but see no need to since I know where the rounds strike - hold high center of chest, rounds will be in the heart. For a holster, check out AlienGear. I love their IWB; very comfortable and adjustable both for tension and cant. I have the AlienGear for all my M&P pistols. Much better fit that Galco or DeSantis IWB.

Started Father's day with a quick range trip mostly playing with the PC Shield. Another 100 flawless rounds. Pic is at 8 yards, some rounds quick fire so considering my skills i am very happy with this PC.
Guess my photo attach skills via iphone suck as the image may need to rotate 1/4 turn but y'all can get the idea lol. (edited to hopefully fix)

Happy Father's Day!

yeah i know, been a month since the last range visit for the new PC Shield but well time just seems to fly by. But as this was my thread i figured i can still add to it.
;)

Only had time for a short range period this am, but 8 mags worth in the Shield including some Hornady 115 Critical Defense (my regular practice ammo is always UMC and Blazer 115fmj). No issues, the PC is fun to shoot quick and has a nice trigger; and now over 300+ rounds in it with 0 problems (well she does like to get dirtier than my non-ported models lol).
First pic with all the holes was at 6 yards regular ammo, including some quick/fast fire to play around on follow up shots. Second pic was at 7 yards with the Critical Defense ammo. This grandpa is satisfied at this stage with those results.... for now of course...

I have no complaints about this gun at all; next step will be to try a couple other SD ammo types/grains before settling on which i like best. Hoping that ends up being one that will also work well in my full size MP as i prefer to keep my ammo stock simple.
