Bought a New Shield yesterday. Went to field strip and clean and lube as I always do on new guns.
Followed manual steps and watched You Tube vids. Seemed pretty routine.
When I get to the step to pull the slide off the frame it moves about 3/4 of an inch and stops. Tried redoing all the steps with same result.
I checked the slide stop spring issue I found when searching. It seems fully seated.
I finally gave it a fairly hard push and it popped off.. Cleaned and lubed . Also pretty tight on reassembly.
Function seem normal once assembled .Planning on firing to day for first time will see if it loosens any.
Any input on what would cause this . This is a possible Glock 43 replacement carry gun , so would like to be confident with it.
