New Shield rear sight off center

well look at that poor quality they put the sight on off center on the slide ***????? I saw that in the manual idk why we Americans put up with this **** from these manufacturers.

My Shield rear sight looks good but my 9c was way over to the left. I put a 1/16 driver in there and the nut turned with hardly any effort. A couple of turns and the whole sight slid right off

I centered and tightened it up

Guess we will see if it holds. There is some red loctite on it

I bought a shield a month ago, first time at the range it shot tight groups 3" left of point of aim at 7 yards. Tried to drift front sight to the left, no luck, then I noticed my rear sight was off center somewhat less than yours. Took it to my smith and he drifted rear sight to center. Shoots dead on now. SHOOT IT FIRST, then have a smith move it for you.

I get rid of any guns with sights off center front or rear. If done right they should be center.
I could tolerate a bit off in elevation. I was planning on getting the shield in 9mm, reading so many people having the sight not center has changed my mind.

You're denying yourself an incredible carry pistol for an easily correctable problem.

I too noticed that my rear sight on my Shield 9 is about 0.5mm more to the right... At the range the difference isnt really noticable until I start shooting at 15 yards or more... 10 yards & closer its dead on target...

I had this issue with my .40 Shield. I changed the stocks sights out for night sights and it made a world of difference at the range. I was shooting 3" left of center and 1" low with the stock sights. I've heard this be a problem with other shields as well.

my new Shield 9mm is the same, including the front sight.
after posting about this, i've decided to send it back to S&W, to fix, along with looking at trigger bar drag.
i would rather them fix the sights and have them look at the trigger drag, than try to fix it myself.
