I have an M & P Shield 9mm. I am enjoying learning this gun and I am very comfortable with the performance. I want to change out the stock sights. Do I go with Trijicon, TruGlo or something else. This is my everyday carry. I would like one that is good for the range as well as night.

More info would be helpful.

What do you not like about the OEM sights?

Do you want night sights?

Do you want colored sights, and if so, different colored front & rear?

Do you want a three dot system like factory, two-dot "figure eight" (simpler), or all black?

Wide rear notch with a narrow front blade?

Huge front sight dot for close range only?

There are so many options that you will get dozens of recommendations as to what others like, but without defining what you are looking for better, most of them may not be useful.

Ameriglo Spartan Operators worth a look. Just ordered a set for my 2.0 9c and will be getting a set for my Shield also. I have 2 sets of Trijicon HDs on a couple of Glocks and while they do give a great sight picture, I personally think they are overpriced considering the available alternatives. Put a set of Ameriglos on a Glock 19 and actually prefer them over the Trijicon.

Ameriglo sights are really good, and at a fair price.

Another vote for the TruGlo TFX or TFO

When I first got into pistols I followed the herd and swapped over to Trijicon tritium sights. Actually I found the biggest value of the sights were that I could easily find the pistol in the dark. They have little value in the light. Now I run a simple HiViz front sight in green on my carry guns. My Glock 23 reserved for bump in the night has the green HiVis and an Olight. The combo works great.
