First of all, welcome to the forum and the Sigma club.
Have you let anyone else shoot it to see if it's not just you shooting low? I would go that route first before calling S&W.Also, were you using the same ammo the whole time?
Good luck and congrats on buying a great gun! :)

I think he's talking about the picture where there is a space above the barrel. Mine looks just like your picture TEXASCROW.

Welcome, I'd put more down range and see if it gets better. Coming from a single action trigger the Sigma can take a little getting use to.

Read the first sentance in his post.He states that the gun is shooting low. Then,in the second sentance he states the barrel sits low in the slide. So,he's asking, because the barrel is sitting low in the slide,is this causing the gun to shoot low?

i have that same space on mine texascrow..... most likely you are lollipopin like we were taught to shoot rifles and iron sites with the sigma you have to cover the bullseye try that first and see if your still shooting low other then that it could also be recoil anticipation

My bad. You're right. :o

I agree, mine looks the same as yours from the front. I was shooting low with mine until I got used to the long trigger pull. Once I started to get used to the trigger and held a tighter grip, the low hits became less and less. Keep feeding the rounds through it and you will start to notice the groupings will be tighter and on target.

What you do is, take a half a bubble gum wrapper and fold it up really tight, squeeze it into the space with a tiny screwdriver. I mean tight. This will eliminate the space and make it impossible for the slide to retract, load a new cartridge and to remove the barrel for cleaning. After you do this, send the gun back to s&w for a warranty repair and possibly get a new gun. This is normal to have the barrel sit low in the slide and is the reason why you need to cover the bull instead of lollypop it. If you do the fisrt part of this post I would love to hear what s&w says to you. Welome to the Sigma club.

I have been shooting competition since I was 18 years old. I’m 65 now. I can’t count the number of times someone has told me that his or her gun is shooting low. Unless there is something drastically wrong with the gun, and from the photo your gun looks normal, it’s the shooter not the gun that is shooting low. Shooting below centerline is almost always caused by anticipation of the hammer strike and subconsciously moving or jerking the barrel downward. The longer trigger pull on the Sigma allows more time to anticipate. Welcome to the forum.

I shot low to start, then read the feedback from the smart people here and, wala, don't shoot low. It just takes me 10-15 shots to remember, then the next 85 are dame good. Working on eliminating those 15.

Also, working on adding to my collection with a Pro Series, but love my first pistol. Will have a 1000 thru it by this weekend!

The 20 round picture put 10 within 1.5" radius, 17 within 3", and 3 out up left. Not that good, but a start. All at 35 feet. Just go shot 6-700:D

The APPEARANCE of sitting low, when viewed from the muzzle-end is just that - APPEARANCE. (Refer to your photo) That hole in the front of the slide is deliberately machined with that extra space above as a RELIEF CUT, so that the slide can move backward when the barrel is tilted. The hole is actually slanted at the top, as the barrel at an angle in recoil, and would bind in a truly round hole that is bored strictly in-line with the slide.

The hard trigger pull on the VE series makes you more prone to shoot low. I agree with the others, keep shooting it till you get used to it. I had the same problem with my 9VE until I realized that deliberately pulling the trigger straight back towards you (not squeezing it) made the gun dead nuts on target.

OK Texascrow, here's how to correct the low shots... 1. Approach your target. 2. Place the muzzle approximately 1 inch from the bullseye. 3. Pull the trigger. Works for me every time.:D
