Just want to introduce my 5906 PPC Version with Aristocrat sights.
It is brandnew including complete paperwork.
Up to now I am not sure if I'll ever take it to the shooting range to use or keep it as collectors item, otherwise maybe to sell to a collector.

Gunsinternational.com says "What Makes The PPC So Unique And Rare, Is That They Were Never Advertised For Sale To The Public, They Were ONLY Available When Ordered By A Law Enforcement Officer And Was To Be Requested Directly From S&W On Policeanization Letterhead Only!! The 6" Is The Rariest Variation And Is Impossible To Find"

Hope you like it as much as I do

they are not really popular here in Germany. So at least maybe worth to give it a try.

But regarding that maybe there is a possible collector anywhere i think he would prefer to buy it new ;-)

Both of mine were reimported from Germany. I'm glad the popularity has died down so the shooters in the USA have the chance to enjoy them. They are overbuilt and shoot amazing. You are missing out.

I thought like you when I got my 845's , one of each model , both nib . I read about how great they were and finally told myself to shoot them . I shoot all my PC guns but I've sold several to buddies that were collectors . I had 4 & 5in 5906 IDPA , the 5in was 1 0f 14/19 , depending on what you read . Those were nib but no way could I shoot them , so they went to a loving home .

The 5906 PPC is a superb firearm.

It would be a shame that a comment on how rare it might be from an auction site like Guns International might stop you from experiencing it for yourself. The auction house' motivation was to get higher bids

Your X-6 pistols are also extremely rare and also a pleasure to shoot

I have had my 5906 PPC pistols for only 5 or so years

I have owned my X-6 pistols for easily twice that long

It is hard to say which one I prefer as both are exceptional platforms.

Both the Performance Center and the MasterShop are artists when it comes to turning out great guns

I definetely love those guns from Sig Sauers Mastershop. One of the most accurate shooters is Sig Sauer P210 Supertarget in 6". Nice to have but rare to find. You can absolutely not compare them to the later US version with 5" barrel.

here are just some more of my guns. my personal favourite is my X-Six Supermatch in scandic Optic. Its absolutely unique.

I think i'll give the S&W PPC gun a try today :D

Gorgeous pistols! I can't knock the SIGs, pics of my previous guns which have since found new homes to allow me to concentrate on my S&W collection. To be fully transparent ( and a little bit selfish), I'm hoping you don't find yourself favoring your new PPC over your SIGs! :D

CALREB , although it's not a true 6in Target Champion , it is a 6in . It was modified by a famous German gunsmith who accurizes other pistols as well . I own this one and I'm pretty sure another member owns one too .

There used to be 2 teams from Germany, come to shoot the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Raton NM and the Nationals in Jackson. Great people, some of them were engineers also or machinist. I remember once some "good old boy" was telling one of them how to modify his revolver. He replied nicely, Thank You, I didn't learn that when I was an engineer at H&K.

They had 5" PPCs that were made into 6" guns. They were modified just like yours. Fine for the open match. They also had some wild revolvers. I have some patches and pins from them. I will hunt them up and add to this post.

They got along great with my wife, whose parents were from Switzerland. She speaks some German, but they all spoke English fine. Great shooters also.

Added the patches and a pin. Shooting next to the German team in the world match.

Here is the Safari-translated text:

Competition in-house ...

... Now there has been a six-inch version of the Target Champion for almost three years. The latter was created as a cooperation of S & W importer Wischo and the Stuttgart tuning specialist Kurt Tschofen, because the Performance Center did not yet produce a corresponding 6" pistol at the turn of the millennium. Smith & Wesson delivered the pistol with a five-inch sled and barrel as a basic weapon; Tschofen fit the 6” barrels of Lothar Walther. In order to increase the foreload and at the same time extend the line of sight, Tschofen provided the tube with a muzzle weight in a slide contour.

... were perfectly fitted inside and out, with evenly polished or matt glass bead-blasted surfaces and cleanly defined edges.

... From the factory, the trigger of the Longslide broke at very good, but not spectacular 1400 grams. No flaw can be found in the dry characteristics with a uniformly increasing load in advance, clean pressure point and "out of the box" decently adjusted trigger stop. Since both the BDS and the DSB for large-caliber pistol shooting allow trigger resistors of at least 1000 g, the trigger of the Tschofen pistol was revised again in Stuttgart. The result: the same characteristic, but a reduced trigger resistance of only 1200 grams.

... even the most fanatical precision fan should not mind the results: The Longslide produced its smallest hit image from the Ransom rest with the 95 grs partial jacket cartridge from Magtech (22 millimeters). Among the three types of reloaded ammunition, it preferred the combination of a 127 grs heavy high-speed shell from Handler & Natermann before 4.5 grains N 340 (23 mm). Tschofen's 6" variant could even outbid this - the same hand-held laboratory brought a tip scattering circle of 15 mm, while the Lapua CEPP was ahead with 21 mm in the factory cartridges. For comparison: A Les Baer Premier II Longslide tested in VISIER-Special No. 17 managed a comparison of 44 factory laboratories in the caliber 9 mm Luger from the RansomRest a best performance of 16 millimeter scattering circle (123 grs VM-KSt from Norma), second place was occupied with the same cartridge with 21 mm, but from a different production lot

... But if you don't mind the appearance of the running weight, you get the Tschofen version, a weapon that is equivalent in balance and equipment for around 100 euros less, which may even shoot a little better. In view of the fine workmanship and outstanding shot performance, the steep price of both versions also seems justified.

Thanks a bunch PatriotX . I've seen that ad in a post by skjos from 2012 about the Super 9 . He threw this gun in there , don't know why . But again it was in German , and my HS German went by the wayside many moons ago .

This basically says the modified 6inch guns actually shoot tighter groups than the factory 6inch guns when tested . I really wish I had the setup to ransom rest these guns with hand loads . My modified 6Inch was built in 2000 and it's somehow fitted tighter and more accurate than my 5inch one.

Okay folks,

so saturday i gave it a try and took this S&W PPC gun to the range.
By being completely new i first had to adjust the target sights.
This gun had some issues to handle my regular nontox ammunition by Sellier&Bellot, so i tried different ammo. Best choice was magtech jacketed hollow point with 115 grain.

By shooting precision disciplines my distance to target is 25 metres, what is approximately 27.5 yards.

Lets see what this gun is able to do. Shooting 10 rounds i am more than happy with the result. (yes, indeed this is ten rounds - there is double holes in the ten up and in the ten down left)

This gun is damn accurate and a favor to shoot! I'm going to do a small trigger-job to reduce the trigger weight to 35 ounces, which is the minimum allowed in my competition disciplines.

Love it!
