Good Morning.

Just ventured into this world in my sixties, mainly for security/self defense as I get older. Afraid I'm gonna need all the help I can get.

Starting off with an M&P compact 40, and just secured my conceled carry permit for Illinois. Hope to learn plenty here, and figure this is the right place for that.

Howdy from South Carolina, and welcome to the forum.

I never shot anything until my 60's, but learned a lot from the good folks hereabouts.

Welcome to you! I didn't get serious about firearms until I was fifty, though I'd done some target shooting when younger. There is a bit of a learning curve, but friendly people on forums like this one helped me quite a bit. Have you thought about getting some formal training? That did me a lot of good at the start of my carry habit. Glad to have you here.

Thanks! Yep, I am definitely going to pursue whatever quality training I can get. Also need to make range time a regular monthly activity.

Still gainfully employed, so monthly is the best I can try for now.

Welcome from Wisconsin!

I'm not only older than you but I must be getting senile, too. I thought I already greeted you the same day you posted but found that I didn't. Probably forgot to hit "post reply".
