Hello all,
Happy to join the forum.
I’ve been shooting since I was 8 yrs old. 61 now. All different avenues , Jc BB gun state champs in Ohio mid 70s , then small bore 3 and 4 position jr rifle team competing. Later, some deer hunting, .22 gallery course matches, and general plinking. Love shooting and working on guns. I just recently purchased a model 29 full lug 44 magnum blued classic and was trying to reference its year built. I have the original box it came in with serial number / product code / spec ord / numbers. Has really nice balance.
Model 29
.44
6 1/2 bbl
Blued
Rb stocks
Features : Classic
In the yoke : 29-6

Tks,

Welcome to the site., I've been on board for two months.

The first digit of the Special Order Number is the last digit of the year shipped. The following digits are the day of the year the gun shipped. The Model 29 Classic was produced from 1991 to 1994, so the first digit of your Special Order Number should be 1,2,3 or 4. Once you know the year it was shipped, you can look up the Julian Date for that year to determine the exact date shipped.
