I like them too! Here is one of mine:

It just has a wonderful feel and balance to it, from the grip to the large target hammer and trigger. I ended up paying $400 for it, think it was a solid deal.

Match, you STOLE it at that price! With the money you saved, you may want to start loading .44! I load .38, 9mm, 40S&W, & 45ACP. 38's $6.50, a box of 50, 45's a little over $11. You can afford to shoot more. Bob

That's a lot more than just a solid deal. That's Grand Larceny ...... almost.

Congrats!

Good choice.
Sometimes the -3s are scorned by the purists as they aren't P&R.
In terms of real performance, that makes no difference whatsoever.
I have several 44s of different persuasions, but this -3 sees the most use of any of them:

Yup - I have a 629-1 (Along with a 629 No Dash).

The 629-1 and the 29-3 may not be Pinned and Recessed, but it has it where it counts. No MIM parts, and still has the 29-3 still has the nice blueing finish before they changed their method.

Quality was still very, very good on these.
