I have been carrying a full size 9mm RIA 1911 daily, but wanted to find something a little smaller.

It traded it for a 4013 this morning and could not be happier. The gun is in great condition, especially since it's a former LEO gun. I've never seen a LEO gun that was in this good of a condition. It's marked Nevada P&P on the side, which is the Nevada Department Of Parole and Probation.

I need to get a better holster for it, but the Fobus will have to work for now. As soon as my favorite leather maker finishes a custom embossed holster for my 28-2 I will give him the 4013.

Does anyone know when it was made? The serial number is VDK62**.

Very nice 4013. Do you know if there are any more like it that might be available? Thanks. Hog

Hey HOG, I dont know about the single stack PD version, but a local shop has the double stack 4013 tsw without the rail.

Wouldn't that be the 4006?

I carried an issue 4013 for a while and put thousands of rounds through it. Always thought it was clunky but after awhile I got familiar with it and it shot true. Agency traded their S&Ws for Glocks and we were not allowed to purchase our old carry guns or I would have kept it for CCW or house gun use.

Enjoy your gun.

not quite

The 4013TSW is still aluminum alloy, 3.5 inch gun, they just went to a double stack magazine. The 4006 is an all stainless 4.25 inch gun. The 4013 is one of the few guns that was both single stack, and double, just depends on theyear.

To OP: Sweet gun :) I love mine, carry it 99%. In fact I love it enough, got one being converted to 10mm, and cerakoted.

Umm no, it would be a 4013tsw without the rail.
There are 3 different variations of the 4013.
the first, single stack.
then the double stack tsw version without the rail,
and lastly, the tsw with the rail.

The 4006 is a full size. the 4013 is a compact.

I should have known that. I had to carry the 4006 for a short time. It was heavier and clunkier. I missed the 4013.

Yep, I also have a 4513tsw and while I like the .45 round, I dont really care for the single stack. The 4013tsw double stack fits my hand like a glove.

None the less, the one that the OP has is a real sweet piece!! congrats

I didn't get it from an dealer, I traded with an individual.

I called my holster maker today and told him that as soon as he gets my 28-2 back to me, I'll give it to him for a few days to work his magic for me.
