Just purchased a 4013tsw. Would like to know its age (I know there is a serial number list somewhere) and what the police trade in (assuming) stamp on it means… anyone help?

Thanks for any help!

No Serial Number List per se - SW mixed production models within S/N sequence. Frames were serialized when they were manufactured but pistols may not have been assembled in some cases until years later - I have 2 VJP prefixes 16 digits apart "manufactured" 2009 for lower number and 1998 for higher number.

4013TSW mostly 1997-2006
Have seen earlier MSE/MSF prefixes mostly 1997-8 and some TDN in 1999 - Novak sights, no Rail, No LCI port - Product Code 104441

Later with Rail and LCI port - TDS mostly 1999-2000, VJx mostly 1999-2003, BAx & BDx mostly 2004-5 - Product Code mostly 104444

Police orders likely Product Codes 148xxx or 149xxx - I have 1 Product Code 149508 Decock Only and 1 Product Code 149333 with Night Sights but those are oddballs.

Pictures? Pistol and Box End label if you have it.
Stamp/odd markings?
Serial Number?

PS you can ask SW for Manufacture Date if you give them Model and Serial numbers.

Does pistol have any extra markings on it? Police trade ins often but not always have match markings on right side of slide, barrel, and frame.

If you dont want to post S/N - prefix might tell something esp if you post any other markings, it might allow tracking to dept.
