I have been looking for a stainless steel snubbie and happened to see one at a pawn shop this week.

It is a S&W Lady Smith Model 60-7 with a serial number of BNEXXXX. I looked it over and it seemed to be lightly used with the original beautiful rosewood grips. I am usually a bargain buyer, but this one was too pretty and hard to find in this nice condition to pass up.

I see the 60-7 was a 1990 change, but have looked through the forum but haven't found the date of shipping or production for this range of serial numbers or if the 60-7 was more than a 1990 production.

Is there anyone who can help with the production or shipping date on this gun?

Thank you in advance!

I had a BNE prefix 36-7 that shipped in April 1993. The -7 Chiefs Specials are the best of the breed.

Thank you both very much for taking the time to help me with this. I do appreciate it.

I too have a 60-7LS. Nice little revolver. I didn’t need it, but for the price I couldn’t pass it up. I was going to gift it to my daughter. Note, I said WAS.
Only thing I notice any different is that when carrying it I wear a pink shirt and hum show tunes.

After watching a bit of the news this morning I believe I will buy up every Lady Smith I can find. Looks like there can no longer be any gender reference to items (i.e. manholes, manmade, mankind, etc.) so these Lady Smiths will become collector items.

On second thought, my greatest opportunity for a financial windfall may be a class action lawsuit that someone files against S&W for not only selling evil guns, but placing gender specific identification on them.

God save us.
