New to me 645

Well good luck finding factory grips for it.

My 645 came with the ugly Pachmeyer grips which I replaced with wooden grips. To me, the wooden grips just make it stand out.

Well good luck finding factory grips for it. They are scarcer than hen's teeth. You picked up mags? Where and how much? All I found for my "new" 645 were Triple K and ProMag...which I am reluctant to buy. I also ordered 2-dot factory rear sights and a recoil buffer for it from Numrich, and a new recoil spring from Wolff. Yeah, season 3 and 4 Don Johnson carried the 645. Just too much breakage with the Bren 10. Weird, because they used a .45ACP setup in it. Hate to see how long it would last with 10MM back then. Norma had some HOT loads and nobody else made 10MM ammo. Here's mine:

645 and 4506 magazines show up regularly on eBay and Gunbroker. Expect to pay in the neighborhood of $40 each.

They do make it stand out, and certainly better looking than the Pachmayr grips. Wooden grips are plentiful on E-Bay and Gunbroker. I have yet to see the factory plastic grips anywhere. Not even at Numrich. That was part of what sold me on the one I bought. Plastic grips in minty condition.

Yes, I have seen 4506 mags on GB. But $40 still makes me "squeal like a pig". I remember when they were 1/2 that price. The dang gun hasn't gone up in price as much as the magazines. For about $20 a piece, I can afford to dick around with the ProMag and Triple K mags. No, it's not a gun I use for concealed carry. But I might consider it for home defense.
