Just got my 686-4 painted 7 shot pistol. Really like it shot it after filling out the paperwork and really glad it did not kick more than my 4" 686. Very accurate and wondering if I should dremel the paint off or leave as is. After a few rounds the paint smells though so might polish it up. Great trigger pull and accurate. Holster is a Galco Silhouette like it but thinking about getting a Lobo IWB holster since this will be my carry gun now. Is the 2 1/2 inch barrel short enough for crossdraw carry? CBP89XX serial when was it made? Thanks here are pics.

Took it to the range today and shoots good trying to figure out the sight adjustments on it need to go up and right some did not get a manual with it to tell how to adjust the sights. Handful with 357 shot 50 from it today and no hand ache but you have to hold on to it. Trigger pull is good not to light or to heavy. I worked on the cylinder some will post picture later I like it better than plain black polished it with scotch brite today and smoothed it out. Left the black in the flutes.

The paint will stop smelling after you throw a bunch of rounds down the pipe; It looks like a very fresh gun and it will need some heat before the finnish stops stinking. I would just leave it on. Be carful of cleaning agents with ammonia or harsh bore solvents as they can wear out duracoat, I personally like breakfree.

Most people dont like this finish so thats why they sell for less on GB. I have been looking at the 586 lcomp pc gun in the same finish and it is $300-400 less than the blue model. It is really easy to touch up your finish if you have a compressor. You can just buy the color from duracoat direct and you will always have a minty looking piece.

Some pictures of the cylinder polished with the flutes left black like it better. I like duracoat my Glocks have some and just got a Glock that was ceracoated and think that may be a better finish. Would like to get my PSP ceracoated some day.
