Out of all the S & W I've owned, never had a L frame 586/686, always wanted one well I wish it could have been a pre-min 686 but all are $900-$950 on avg and I got this 686-6 NIB less than 100 rds through her. Only paid $650 and got a 50rd box of Win 110gr JHP as well. Plus it's 2.5" barrel I wanted too. I've got a set of elk stags coming, love RB's. Also deciding

You are going to find that the L Frame is one of the best balanced revolvers out there and is a natural pointer.

S&W got the proportions perfect on the L Frame.

They will handle any factory level ammunition.

Very accurate, great triggers.

Congo's your first one.

Congrats to you on your new 686.

The 686 is my favorite in the S&W line-up. Supremely accurate and just a classic. I EDC my 3" 686-6 more than any other handgun I own.

People like to hate on the lock, but the 686 is heavy enough that it's never going to be a problem, and my 686-6 has been a very enjoyable revolver to shoot. It's my usual EDC during the winter months.

I plan on carrying mine as well after I get my illeastomy bag reversed which should be soon if I make it through the surgery, God willing. I'm having a tough time finding an iwb 2.5" that I like to use though as well I have some beautiful kk stags coming too.

Go touch one of them 110's off in the dark out of that short barrel....

I just took my 4" out for the first time, shot 100 rounds 38sp and 100 of my 357 handloads with 2400 over a 158gr MBC SWC. In a nice shady "pit" at the range I was seeing fire about every third shot at 0900! Good times!!::D
