I've been wanting a 686 for a LONG time, and today I had an opportunity to purchase this 686+ for $600. It's in really great shape, tight and nary a scuff. I'm a happy camper tonight! It's S/N CJR50XX, and with a lock I'm guessing it was probably fairly recently manufactured.

Congrat's! Is that a 4" bbl.?

My CRWxxxx revolver was made in Sep-2011 so your's was probably made earlier in the year.

Did yours come with the factory box? The box's label & fired case envelope will have the exact date., if so.

Yes, it's a 4" bbl. It did come with the case, but I don't see anything on the label that would indicate the date, and unfortunately the fired case envelope was not included. Oh well, that gives me a good idea though. Thanks!

My latest L frame is a 686 Pro-Series. It is a 5" barrel gun. Have a 586 no dash, 4", and a 686-3, 6". No 2.5" though. Bob
Feb. 2016 on mine according to label. My "newest gun"

Congratulations! I would have to say you did quite well on that 1! Enjoy! Bob

VERY nice!! I just replaced the photo I posted of my "new" 686+. I took the first one last night and it wasn't a very good photo. Here are a couple of much better photos.

Here's a pic of the only label on the case.

The number is 6002. It's code for the ship date which is.......

Here's what the feature codes mean:
07 - 7-shot
A2 - Double action
MD - Medium frame size
GR - Grips rubber
BF - Barrel full lug
SW - Sight white outline (rear)
SR - Sight red insert (front)
FS - Frame stainless
CS - Cylinder stainless
ZS - Finish brushed stainless

I just bought a 3" 686+ and as others have said it is a rock solid gun.
Congratulations on yours and get it out to the range.
