Hello,

I recieved a couple S&W Revolvers in a collection I recently purchased. Im not familiar with these guns and am interested in reselling them.
One is a K22 and the other is a 66-3 .357.
If anyone has info on the approximate age and value I would appreciate it. I purchased the membership here so I could list them for sale once I understand more about what they are.

The K22 revolvers were superbly made field and target revolvers but their value is effected to some degree by when they were made.
The stainless 66 series KF frame revolvers, also known as the "Combat Magnum, are quite popular with shooters and collectors, especially the shorter barrel models like yours.
You can call S&W and give them the serials numbers and they'll tell you when they were made though if you want more in depth info you'll have to pay for a letter.

Thank you for the reply. I thought these pictures attached the first time but apparently they didnt.

The K22 serial # is K 61319 if that helps.

Welcome to the forums from the Peanut Capital of the World! The Model 66-3 shipped around 1990. You might want to peruse the completed auctions at gunbroker.com to see what range these guns have been selling in. You have to register there and use the Advanced Search to search completed auctions.

You might reconsider selling those revolvers if you learned to shoot them. Some things have value besides money.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I have many guns, and most of them will never leave my safe. These just happen to be from a collection I purchased to help someone out and they have no sentimental value or use for me and i need to get the space back in the safe for other things.

For some reason there is a lot of inconsistency in ship dates for the K61000 serial range. Here are some examples of confirmed ship dates for various K-22 Masterpiece revolvers:

K61071 K-22 Masterpiece, March 1950
K61189 K-22 Masterpiece, December 1948
K61357 K-22 Masterpiece, July 1949
K61428 K-22 Masterpiece, March 1950

Hence, your K-22, at K61319, might have left the factory any time during the period 1948-1950.

Great info, thank you.
It seems like sold listings are all over the place depending on many factors that I dont understand. Do you think asking around $750 each would be a bad place to start?

Welcome to the Forum! Those are both nice revolvers and fairly popular. When you do decide to sell, as you know you can Post them here on the Forum. You will most likely get a fair price, and you can trust the members with the sale. Good luck!
Thank you very much. I will list them here first. Im not trying to get a premium price, but a fair price without having to sell to a dealer for less would ne nice.

I can't help with pricing the 66-3. It is too new for me to know about or care about.

Regarding the five-screw K-22 Masterpiece: As a buyer, I would be pleased to pick it up for $750. If the condition is as nice as it appears in those pictures, I'd call $750 the minimum price.
Thanks. When I list it for sale, ill try to include a lot more photos.

autogun1, take those rubber grips off the model 66 and wipe down with silicone rag and inspect.
There have been numerous horror stories over the years about rust under the rubber after market grips

Wekcome to the Forum from Missouri! Price-wise $750 (each) would be @ the lower end of pricing but somwhat realistic if doing a pkg deal. The snubby .357 mdl 66's are bringing somewhat of a premium right now&who doesn't love a clean .22 S&W revolver? If you have no interest in them list them here,on the Forum......JMHO....Good Luck w/ your sale!
