New to me Highway Patrolman...Next to the Last, Almost Final Update, Sept. 10th, 2016

Uh oh... Last Saturday I spotted another Highway Patrolman, this time a 28 no dash from 1960. I think it needs to have a light overhaul like the first one I posted on this thread. Here is a "before" picture:

Merry Christmas everyone.

Best Regards, Les

Les, I called The Betty Ford Clinic! They have a room waiting for you!!:D

I'm blaming this one on "Lee's Landing Billy"!!! I mentioned on another thread that I had passed on a 28 no dash, that I thought would go with my 28-2, and Billy talked me into going back the next day and taking another look at it. Actually, it seems to be in better shape than my original 28-2, and is 10 years older, dating to 1960, versus the first one, which dates to 1970.

Hey, it keeps me off the streets, anyway!

Best Regards, Les

I can't really say anything. Your addiction is a sweet 28. Mine is an irresistible 44! Merry Christmas young man!!

The second one may be a real winner. Not much use, just a little neglect that will NOT affect it as a shooter.

Great revolvers. I carried one for over twenty-five years before the agency went to Sigs.

I watched a video where the guy used an actual copper penny to remove rust spots on blued barrels. It has to be an old penny that was still made with copper. I used it on my Remington 1100 barrel and it does work removing the raised rust area. Then use penetrating oil to removed any other rust remaining. It didn't remove the bluing.
Here is one video about it.
