I just bought an used M&P 45c (2013) detail stripped the whole gun, cleaned, oiled, put it back together. Just waiting for the ammo to come in the mail to head to the range.

I'm very excited, always been curious about M&P guns, I have experience with glocks and SA, but this will be my second M&P after having a shield.

Is there anything in particular that I should look for? parts to replace? or any new updates? thanks in advance.

I put 200 rounds thru the new 45c I bought and like it just the way it is. At 7 yards it shoots low using the sights just like my EDC 9c so I got the adjustment figured on it and I rarely use the sights since it's a close range self defense wep. I don't know any thing to recommend to buy for it from my experience so just enjoy shoot your new gun.

Congrats on the new .45. I hope you have a case of ammo on the way, as you will want to shoot it a lot.

Give it couple hundred rounds (if your budget will support it) before making any changes.

You will probably want more magazines, get then while you can in an election year. See how you like the trigger and the sights. I chose to install the APEX Duty/Carry kit and 10-8 "U" rear sights on two M&P .45 mid-size models. For me, I found both to be worthwhile and the pistol is accurate out to the limits of my usual indoor range (25 yards).

Buys magazines, buy ammo, enjoy!

Agree on the 10-8 U notch rear sight. Combined with a fiber optic front, it's may favorite setup on the M&Ps

yup ammo is on his way I ordered for my G21 without knowing I was going to get the gun, will keep in mind the 10-8 U sights and the apex trigger thanks for the info.

That's what I would do. Shoot it for a while and give it a chance as-is before spending more money on things you may not need.

I happen to like night sights but have not gotten to installing them on my 45C yet. The gun has been great just the way it is. :)

i just bought a new on also and it is a 2013 model. only issue you may have is extractor issues i had to send mine back in to get it replaced , now runs great, also had them make sight adjustments . replaced front sight . I like it alot you will also.

Shot 100 flawless rounds today, the only thing didn't like was no felt reset as expected, got my apex duty/carry kit in the mail so went ahead and installed it. It feels a lot better, now I can feel and hear the reset.

Since I had to remove the sights went ahead and ordered TFX sights.

I have one, and I think it's what the Glock should have been all along. Since yours is used, it should be pretty smooth when you get it. If you experience the " grittiness" some complain of, you can fix it yourself without the Apex kit. Remove the firing pin safety plunger, polish the heck out of it, and clean the channel it rides in. You can also clip a coil or two from the spring, but that's up to you. Otherwise, just shoot the heck out of it. Congrats on a fine purchase. No issues with mine.

already shot it trigger is super smooth, only complain is there is no trigger reset and I'm used to it so did the apex duty/carry and it feels much better now with the positive trigger reset. I'm more used to Glock trigger that's maybe why.

I agree with others; plan on at least 200 rounds down range before making any changes. My full size M&P 45 threw rounds all over the target before settling down at around the 200 mark. Same with my M&P9c and Shield. So be patient. With the 45, expect a more stout recoil than with 1911 models; the M&P just doesn't have the weight to soak up recoil. It's not abusive like a 454 Cas. would be, but it definitely will get your attention with that first round! Enjoy.
