I bought the 6" version of the 29-3 back in 1987. Still have it and it has been a great revolver. Been on numerous elk hunting trips at my side.

Congratulations!! I think you'll enjoy shooting that pistol with some 240gr JHP Remington's!! Mine was identical except she had the rubber grips which I Really liked!! That long barrel is gonna give you a nice smooth recoil with about a 2" rise on the barrell with the load I mentioned!! The Perfect pistol for Range use or Hunting!! I carried mine in a verticle shoulder holster rig all day while hunting and never even knew it was there!

I've owned lots of 29s, for some reason never 29-3. I use to seek out the
8 3/8" barrels, now would rather have 6"-6.5". Trouble is trading them off.
If you have a gun that you know shoots well it's hard to trade in for pig in the poke. They all look nice, that don't mean they will shoot.

I traded a Remington 700bdl for the exact same gun you have back in 1991,,Three months later I dropped a 14 point whitetail running ou a hill at 60 yards,,Needless to say,,this gun is a keeper. Forever!
