I've been on the prowl for a decent priced Model 66/19 for a little while now and found this gem locally for what I felt was a decent price ($500)

It was advertised as LNIB, and it came with the original blue box and all of the paperwork including the warranty card and wax paper. This is a 4 inch model, with white outline rear sight and orange insert front sight. I'm inclined to think these are the stock grips. The turn line is non existent and the lockup feels like a brand new gun. There were no imperfections and removing the grips expose a round butt frame. I think this is the last of the pre lock combat magnums :) I can deal with the MIM parts, just not the IL. SN is CDF41XX

Here is an initial picture before I clean the dust and fingerprints off of it. I can't wait to stretch her legs.

The trigger is excellent, right on par with my 14-6 full lug.

Product Code is 102706
I'll double check the label but special order 9327 (Which I assume would be very late 1999?)

I just got a 66-5, mine has a 2 1/2" barrel. It is quickly becoming my favorite revolver. I also don't mind the MIM, but I can't live with the "Lock Hole" Also around here in Arizona, $500 would be a very good price.

Well since the only dumb question is the one you don't ask, what is the MIM and Lock Hole?

Lock Hole is the internal lock system S&W started with Clinton administration. It has been said it has a small possibility of failure after being dropped. MIM is metal injection molding parts that some consider inferior.

She cleaned up nicely for already being in perfect condition! The grips will be in storage soon, thinking about moving to some classic RB medallions and a T-Grip.

Last pic is where she may spend a lot of time. The bedside table.
