"New to Me" Old Model Ruger Blackhawk

Just to let you know, if you need any parts for it and you call Ruger, they will check the serial number to see if it has had the safety conversion. If not, they will not sell you any parts for it. Not even a grip frame screw. I have a 3 screw in .30 carbine that I needed a grips frame screw due to one being buggered a little. Called Ruger, and once they checked the serial number, the very nice young lady informed me of their policy and said she was very sorry. No problem, miss, I understand.

And it is my hope that the lawyers that advised them to incorporate this policy find a less than "peaceful" resting place!

My first centerfire handgun was and still is this 4 5/8" 3 screw .357 Magnum, left, which I bought new in 1970. The .30 carbine, from 1968, was added about 10 years ago and I re-installed original parts to make it a 4 clicker. :D

In 1979 my cousin and I both bought Virginian Dragoon .44 Magnums. We both had problems and I was really wishing I had bought a SBH instead.

Same story for me. I had almost forgotten I bought a Virginia Dragoon 41 Magnum in a pawn shop. Shot a few cylinders full of factory ammo and it became clear at least one chamber was throwing the bullet inches away from the "group". Took it back to the shop and told him the problem....he gave me my money back ASAP.
