Won on a local auction a very nice 6906 today. Have always wanted a 9mm 1911 pistol. Condition is excellent. Don't know that much about these but I think $365.00 is a good price. Looking forward to some range time with it.

That is a good buy on one of the most underrated 3rd gen pistols. Yours doesn't look like it is even broken in yet. Enjoy and welcome o the side of the house S&W would like to forget.

It's not a 1911, but my 6906 has become my primary SD gun. I only wish it was decocker only like my 4566. Great gun otherwise.

You did real good on that deal. The Model 6906 will always be special to me because it was my first 3rd Gen.

Your right it's not a 1911 my mistake.

Are there grips still available for them. I went into my LGS and they did have a extra flush mag for it in stock.

The part # you need is 203550000. Unfortunately no one seems to have it. Like so many 3rd Gen parts it has been discontinued. You might try running a WTB ad on this Forum;maybe someone has one they can spare.

Great little piece! I just got one myself and am currently carrying it.
Congrats on finding what's the most popular carry piece till the coming if the 3913. And 5900 series mags can be used in them too.

I carried it all day today on a very long motorcycle ride. Didn't hardly notice it was even there.

Have a friend with an older S&W 10 round double stack mag. Looks just like the one I have only hold two less rounds?

That's a very good price. I have one for sale..at a higher price. Mine is in Like new condition but has 2nd gen sights. I was actually considering taking it off the WTS sub forum and sending the slide to Novak to cut in Novak 3 dot sights. . If i do that I would probably keep it as I will have too much into it to sell it. I love the gun..was just looking to get some cash. I have some other guns I think I will sell instead...I ramble..very nice package for a really great price...mine came with box etc but I was close to $500 OTD.

Mine unfortunately did not come with a box. Wished it did and don't understand why gun owners throw away the original box that it came with.

I purchased a LNIB 6906 im 2010 for a little more than you paid and it rapidly became my go to carry gun

Because it's just a box? I don't buy gun boxes, I buy the gun that's in it. I suppose that's foolish, but I don't know how many gun box collectors there are.

Probably not many, but by throwing out the box and other stuff you basically throw money out the door. Just saying.

Keeping the box implies PO was taking great pride and care of his/her item. Just like window sticker and repair receipts for autos.
