New to me SW9VE anything I need to know

Hey guys I just bought a new to me SW9VE. It is in like to new condition. Came with 2 16 round mags and I had 1 17 round mag. Since all the stink has been raised about mag capacity I have been looking for either a SW or an SD 9VE. I came across this one at a local pawn shop for $330.00. I figure I over paid a little but they are hard to come by around here and I had the extra 17 round mag already. The test round was fired on Jan 29 2012 so its not a year old yet. And the trigger seems smooth to me. That seems to be the biggest knock on these guns. Anything else I need to know or do. Other then shoot it!!

I 2nd that. And for peace of mind, you didn't get price raped either. Not like other stories that are going on. I picked up my sd40ve at a gun show months before all this crazy stuff broke out and paid 300$.

I love my Sigma 9, I'm sure you'll feel the same about yours after you put some rounds through it.

Congrats on the purchase. As BBauer927 said you didn't over pay. And I agree with others...read the manual, then: clean-lube-shoot...REPEAT!

I've had mine for a year now...put about 800 rounds through it without one problem. Once you get used to the trigger (which means practice, practice, practice) you'll find it shoots very well. And you can't beat it for reliability! I would recommend you find another mag or three, before the little dictator and his cronies pass their stupid laws. Other then that...enjoy it!!

congrats on your sw i actually just purchased my sw9ve back in jan. as well and have already put around a 1000 rounds through it. i love this gun. i did get the apex trigger spring kit for 23 bucks and installed it which did lighten the trigger pull not sure on how much as i dont a have trigger pull tester but i would say about half as much weight now also i stripped the gun down and hand sanded (lightly with 800 grit) and polished (with my dremel) all contact points this thing is smooth as glass and have had no problems with and like the rest said clean lube and shoot enjoy

SW9VE is a Very Good Pistol

I used to own a SW9VE but sold it last year---for $250 with 4 high cap mags--------I probably should have kept it just for the hell of it as it was not a money issue. I also own the M&P9, the M&P9C the SD9VE the Ruger SR9 and the Ruger SR9C and the Glock 19 Gen 4 and the Glock 17Gen4----but TRUTH BE TOLD------none of these other weapons are any better than the Sigma-----I never had a malfunction with the Sigma-----was an accurate weapon --great firepower with 4 mags (got two of them free in a S&W rebate program)

The key to the Sigma being a good weapon is to study it, learn how it functions and keep it clean and properly lubricated-----I have found no other 9mm pistol that made me a better shooter or made me feel more safe

Only one suggestion. See if you can pick up a couple 10 round magazines before the prices on those go up when everyone gets scared that they won't be able to own a 16 round one. Buying frenzies jack up prices drastically and make things unobtainable. Guns and accessories in my area have gone up quite a bit in the last year. Some are almost impossible to even find any more, along with ammo of all types. And (heaven forbid) if they are successful with magazine reduction laws, you will still be able to carry it without feeling like a criminal. Because I guarantee if you have to use it, they will be checking the magazine and no matter how much you are in the right with the shooting, you would still be in the wrong.
