>>> UPDATED 11/5/2015, 11:30 AM
Our old venue is no longer available. We have decided, at least temporarily, on a rotating venue attached to more mainstream gun shows.
This Month, Saturday, November 7, 2015 we will meet at the Fort Pierce Gunshow. Member Al Jasaitis has 4 of his own tables and has reserved an adjoining table for the S&WCA South Florida group a/k/a the Hole in the Wall Gang (adapted from our past venue which was very small)
Doors open at 9AM. We will be set up by 10AM. Look for Al "Big Al" Jasaitis of "The Gun Collection" and his wife, Vida, and look for me, Sal Raimondi. Unfortunately, Mike Borkovic won't be able to make this meeting as his wife recently had surgery. We all wish Mike's wife a speedy recovery.
We invite ALL S&W collectors and enthusiasts to come meet with us. Bring your best for show and tell or items you'd like to sell.
Location:
Havert L Fenn Center
2000 Virginia Ave,
Fort Pierce, FL 34950
NOTICE:
After this month's meeting, I will be resigning from my unofficial position as one of the coordinators of the South Florida "Bunch" and the guy that has to contend with various personality conflicts and disorders for my efforts. I prefer only to be a visitor of whatever South Florida meetings there may be no matter who organizes them.
The South Florida "Bunch" was the sole concept of Mike Borkovic who is due ALL the credit and applause for suggesting the concept of getting South Florida Members together on a monthly basis. I had absolutely NOTHING to do with the founding of same. I only helped in the coordination to a very minor degree.
For all future South Florida "Bunch" meetings, contact Mike Borkovic, (gmborkovic) directly as it is entirely his baby.
If any of the regulars or other Florida members ever want to meet up to socialize, count me in. If any member are planning to travel up my way in Palm Beach County, members are always welcome to call me to stop by my ranch for a visit when mutually convenient. (No admission cost )
If any other members are having a different S&W local collectors social event or any kind, just email me or post on the forum where and when.
In parting, my best regards and well wishes to Mike Borkovic and the future success of the South Florida "Bunch" which I will still attend, when possible ... as a visitor, only ... void of any unofficial capacity. Peace, out ! Sal

All S&WCA members and S&W Enthusiasts (non-members) welcome as are accurized or fine target pistols & revolvers enthusiasts. Look for us there. Bring your nicest S&W and / or target gun to show off.
Ask for S&WCA members: Sal Raimondi (me) or Mike Borkovic or Al Jasaitis.
Bring your old (or newer) S&W's for a free appraisals (one gun per person only) to anyone mentioning they saw this post in "the Forum". I am Life Member of the S&W Collectors Assn and Licensed by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation as Auction house owner.
Al Jasaitis is the owner of "The Gun Collection" in Pompano Beach, Florida. Check out Al's website at: The Gun Collection, LLC
Our South Florida local chapter of the Smith & Wesson Collectors Association, a/k/a South Florida "Hole in the Wall" bunch, are off to a great start and now third meeting.
I believe I can speak for all of us that we are very pleased to be off to a good start, hoping it only grows larger. This was the brainchild of Mike Borkovic and myself with Al Jasaitis who immediately jumped in to actually make it all happen although he had not yet become a member (and now is a member). That's dedication, I think.
Our first meeting on Sunday, July 12, 2015 was a success. August 9, 2015 brought 2 new member. September was no meeting. October 11, 2015 brought new member Joe O'Neill who is well known to all us locals for the past 20+ years.
Of our regulars who attended were:
Mark Calzaretta, Brad Whidden and Allen Perrin who ALL never cease to bring interesting and different model S&W's. Brad "the wiz" brought a pre-28 and a pre-19 in excellent condition and a stone cold mint .44 Magnum 50th Anniversary. I'm sure I'm forgetting some of them. My apologies. Allen brought his gorgeous N frames including a pre-29 in rich, deep, premium blue. Mark Calzaretta, who masters "all" S&W frames, brought his Performance Center McGivern Commemorative Model 15, (in flawless nickel) and a bag of other S&W goodies. Mike Stanley came by to hang with us, too.
I brought a Model of 1950 in .45 Colt on loan from a private collection, a few older M&P's, a RM and a few others.
Mark Sadolf (retired LEO and ace bullseye shooter) brought to "Frankesmiths". S&W Frames with Python barrels. I wish I had taken a picture of them. Ralph Zeltman (FFL), came back for his second meeting with a S&W .460 pocket cannon. I believe applications to the S&WCA are in for both Mark & Ralph.
New faces were William Peachey, and Dan Henson (Trooper Dan, retired career US Armed Forces who winters with us in Florida), with some very nice S&Ws including a 25-2 which occupied about a half hour of conversation from all. Also, my life long friend, Nick Blanda, came along with me just to see what all the fuss was about.
Al Jasaitis and Mike Borkovic were missed at this meeting. Al sent our S&W table cover over with Joe O'Neill that we would not risk having a less than proper "club" table.
Mike accompanied his wife, out of town, for surgery. To Mike: Our thoughts and our prayers go with you and your lovely wife for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Hope to see you next month or sooner.
We had a M&P .32-20 and another in 38 Special, both of the 1915 to 1920 vintage show up for appraisals.
We are hoping even MORE people attend our 4th meeting on November 8, 2015.
Tentative Schedule is the 2nd Sunday of every month, next meetings are November 8th and December 13th, 2015.
We are trying for multiple S&WCA club tables. There will never be less than one and hoping we soon have it up to several tables. LOOK for our S&W Banner and / or table cover.
It is a small, local, 1-day show (actually only 6 hours). You won't have any trouble finding us.
Once we have a regular turn out, perhaps we can organize a bank of tables for the S&WCA members should members decide to display, sell or trade.
Bring one of your favorite S&W's for a "show and tell" and / or one of your favorite bullseye guns.
Time will be from 10AM to 3PM at: $5.00 at the door to get in and good food available. It is a small, local, friendly show plus the burgers and the dogs are pretty good !
S&WCA Member, Al Jasaitis, always has 2-3 tables at this show and has supported us with the VFW. We hope to have a few more along side of Al. Were hoping anyone needing FFL services will visit Al at "The Gun Collection" in Pompano Beach, FL.
Very dear and old friend Joe O'Neill, welcome to the S&W Collectors Association. We are all very pleased to have you with us !!
comments and suggestions appreciated.
All "good" guys are welcomed even if you own a gun that is a "FOUR LETTER WORD".
Private joke: to S&W Collectors that 4 letter named gun ( C - O - L - T ) is a curse word and the name should never be spoken but I haven't met a S&W Collector yet that doesn't have at lease one stashed somewhere.
See you next time. Sal S&WCA LM#1300
