And that poor bugger probable thought that the pol-lice was on his side..........;):D
And he probably thought they'd totally let him slide on the driving with a suspended license thing (see second link):

"Mr. Dean was also found to be driving with a suspended New York State driver's license."

I'm thinking Andrew's secret SP-Bat-Phone line @ the Albany mansion lit up with a message shortly after the big bust to inform him of how well the new law is working.

The Aggr/U/L Operation 3 is a common enough charge but many jurisdictions make a full arrest for it. Combine that with the new SAFE Act violation,,He's probably lucky to have received appearance tickets for all of it.

They'll probably review his Permit now also.

Sure Sucks! But as you said, The law is "The LAW!" LEO just doing his job, but I feel sorry for the poor bugger. ...

The NYS troopers have been explicitly "instructed" to enforce all of the provisions in the safeact by their boss, andy cuomo. They are somewhat compelled as the gov signs their checks. The rest of LE in NY will probably not be so strict on their enforcement as most see it for what it is, ****!

If anyone was wondering if the magazine capacity rule was being enforced, there's your answer!

I do not know New Yorks Laws but is is wise to leave a gun on the front seat while being pulled over by a LEO??
Yes, the 7 round thing is ridiculous.

In Florida that would be illegal unless securely encased in a holster.

We can also leave it un holstered in a glove box or center console.

I'm not sure it is legal to have a loaded gun on the seat in NY, but that is another story. But this is just another case of legislators being totally clueless. So, he is deep **** because he had 9 rounds in the gun, but would have been fine had he had two guns sitting there with 7 rounds each for a total of 14 rounds. Got to love our idiots in government.

In North Carolina as long as it is in plain view. A long gun or a short gun doesn't have to be in a holster or case and it can be loaded. If you have a concealed permit the short gun can be hid but the permit doesn't cover long guns. I guess each state has its own rules. Larry

I saw a program on tv about guns during the War of Northern Aggression and it told about one guy that was carrying 12 pistols. That was his way around the slow loading cap and ball. Maybe more guns is the answer to the NY law. Larry

So what happens if you have one round chambered and 7 in the mag? Is that legal? Assuming that is legal suppose you load 8 in the mag intending to chamber round and you have a stroke and never get to chamber that round. If, and after, you get out of the hospital will you be arrested for having 8 in the mag? If you're pulled over and you have 1 chambered and 8 in the mag and you jack in a new bullet thereby ejecting one on to the floor before the officer gets out of his car and you lay the gun back on the seat and then the officer sees the gun and then counts the bullets in the gun and sees one on the floor what happens then?

Not wise but certainly not criminal either. Yes he had a suspended lic, but that can happen over an unpaid parking ticket. The stuff we put up with would be totally unacceptable just 2 generations ago. Joe
