AJ my son used to say the same thing when comparing his "amenities" at Ft. Bragg and those at Pope Air Force Base next door, especially the gym and dinning halls.
Pistol ranges at Bragg were close to Pope so we " managed" to go a couple of times, was like going off base to eat. In Vietnam AF barraks, clubs and mess halls had AC. Only better eats were at the Saigon docks in Newport on the river.
