I'm a complete newbie! The first rifle I ever put my hands on was a 15-22 (a few weeks ago) and I just received my own 15-22 a few days ago! Still waiting for ammo that I ordered from Cabella's, of which I have no information of so far.
I am in love with all the different mods I have seen on all your rifles, and I would love to pay top dollars and get the best of the best but unfortunately I have very little money to spend!
So could you guys please help me choose the right optics?
My budget is well under $100! So I understand I'l be getting what I pay for, but I'm not sure what I need.
I looked at some scopes on optics planet and one scope I really liked was the Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32 Any issues I should be aware of?
I also am not sure if I should go with a red dot, but (from past experiences shooting with pellet rifles) I would prefer some magnification.
I am planning on going to the range and start shooting next week, most probably never gonna shoot more than 100yards. Mostly gonna be shooting between 25-100 yards.
Am I looking for the wrong optics?
Thanks for all the help!
I have that exact same Simmons scope on my 15-22. It works for me, I bought it just to see if I even wanted a scope on the 15-22.
I got it at Cabelas for about $35 after sales, points, etc. It does have some distortion issues if I don't have my eyeglasses aligned just right, etc. At that price it's almost a throw away if it breaks.. Used it for two + years.
BUT, I also have a TRS-25 and "iron" sights mounted at the same time. (Yup, I know, Mall Ninja.....) The problem is, I really only use it at the range, so far and it's just as easy to leave the stuff on. When shooting from a rest, the extra weight is meaningless....
Here's some pics. Things have been moved around a bit. The TRS-25 is now on the right side.
