Gotta start somewhere with a first post...

My .38 10-5 came to me after a friend of the family passed away. Had it about three years and have shot about half a box through it. Other than the smaller grip I like it just fine. Never really thought about finding out more about it. Saw s&w's information availability option on their website, but don't really want to drop fifty bucks right now.

Here's a pic. Can anyone help me date a D294xxx

Looks like 1969-1970 ish according to your serial number, you might look at a Tyler grip adapter for that gun if the grip is not right for you. They are about 20 bucks or so and can find them in old time gun shops and on the internet by doing a search. Nice gun by the way, It sucks how you came about it though. I have a few from family that I received after a death. I hate that part of getting them.

Oh yea, Welcome to the forum, You will find a bunch of good ol folks here willing to help you out. :)

WOW! A 10-5 nickel snubby! YOU are a lucky dog.

A 10-5 snubby is on my wish list...almost right up there with what I consider the Cadillac of snubbies...the Model 15.

Welcome to the forum.

Here is a 10-5 with the Tyler Grip adapter referred to above if you are not familiar with them.
My wife carried this one as a duty gun years ago.
