I have been looking at 3 different scopes or red dots but have no idea what riser or mount I would need to go with whichever one I decide. Can anyone give me exactly what scope mount or riser I would need for these? Maybe a link to the part on Amazon if your feeling extra nice.

- Vortex Strikefire
- Nikon P-22 2-7x32 Matte BDC150
- Bushnell TRS-25

Thanks in advance!

you can't go wrong with a B-Square mount .they are inexpensive and easy to install ,and there guaranteed for life .I personally have a number of them mounted on semi automatics and revolvers alike .

I bought the medium one that Scopes posted above from Amazon.

I think it comes down to your preference also. I could have gotten away without one, but i do not like my face crammed up against the weapon. So i bought a medium one and it works fine.

The high will not co-witness with the sights.

I figured that. I am more interested in the ability to use both an optic piece as well has having the ability to use the iron sights. I am interesting in being able to have both 100% functional, as in being able to look through the optics, but being able to lower yourself down a bit and use the iron sights.

It seems that a riser that high with a hole in it would allow for this. I am right?

But I suppose you could always flip up the sights and still look through a red dot and use the sights fine?

That riser is not high enough for you to look through the hole in the riser and use the sights. You would need to look through the red dot while using the sights.

What has B-Square to do with AR mounting optics? Nothing. Wrong forum for that answer.

I used 45* irons and dont worry about any witness. Works pretty good

No worries. Since I have decided to put my Walther P22 red dot on my 15-22, I am thinking (based on what Im reading) that the medium size riser would work.

The idea is to able to use the red dot, but if it is turned off, i can see see through it and used the iron sights.

I am presuming this is reasonable with the medium sized riser?

They will co-witness, it is just a lower 1/3, and not absolute co-witness.

After I typed that I knew I would be corrected.:D I should have said the overwhelming choice of 1/3 co-witness would not work.

Don't have any experience with the Walther red dot, so I can't say which riser will give you an absolute co-witness, or a lower 1/3 co-witness.

Once you have it on the proper riser though, yes, you can see through it and use iron sights.

Excellent. I'm not so much interested in co-witnessing as just plain functionality. There is a gun show coming up soon and I'll probably take the rifle in with the red dot and try different risers to get what I want.

Thanks again for your input!
