WsUp everyone My name is Sal AKA mysticguido. I found this site when I was doing some research on a Hand gun I want to get. I'm down to either the S&W SW9VE or the SW40VE. I read all the bashing about the triggers on these fine Firearms and like lots of other things I take it with a grain of salt.

Both have their +/-... 9MM being more rounds and the 40 being harder hitting. I know both will/can do the job on anything I aim at so that's not a big deal, Same with the price of ammo.. No big deal in My book.

This firearm will be mainly for Home Defense and maybe some hog hunting now and then. Just like Archery a Well placed shot is way better then a bad one.

I have seen on this site that there are more 9MM's shooters then .40cal, Not trying to start anything... This is just what I have seen when reading threads.. I am leaning more so to the 40VE due to knock down power.

I should have My SW40VE/SW9VE by the end of April, since money is little tight right now, But I'm looking forward in getting one and going shooting. I have owned firearms in the past and I was in the US Army so I do know some things about them. I am also looking in to a Laser-sight for it.

Well when I get My Sigma I'll post about it and My time at the range, But for Now I just wanted to say Hello to everyone First.....

Welcome to the forum!

Let us know when you get your sigma, they're lots of fun to shoot!

I bought my SW9VE a week ago and I can tell you now, you won't be disappointed. I bought the 9mm due to the cheaper ammo, but I plan on getting a .40 in the near future.

If you have the money and the ability to shoot it accurately, get the .40. Most people will agree that the best caliber for personal defense is the largest you feel comfortable with.

Welcome aboard from VA!
I bought my SW40VE in Nov of last year, and have run about 1500rds thru it so far, it keeps getting better! However, I am looking into a used SW9VE because it's $10 cheaper a box (per100rds). I shoot 2X a month, usually 100rds each time, so $20 saved is my gas $ to the range. I'll keep the .40 for EDC, but practicing with the Sigma 9 will transfer muscle memory and feel directly to the .40. Plus, it'll be nice to have a "set" of S&W's... ;p)

Welcome from parts unknown!

I don't believe any handgun possesses adequate stopping power so I intend to shoot -whatever- several times. Since I can shoot a 9mm very quickly and accurately (and on the cheap) that is what I carry the most. Of course shooting a hog many times may be counter productive. Not sure, not a hog hunter. But I do know that too many holes in meat is never a good thing. ;)

welcome. I also bought the 9ve for ammo price. But now that I'm "trying" to roll my own im in the market for the 40ve or a nice 357. I also need a decent CC. well thats my wish list anyhow. I figured I could use the 40ve and give the 9 to my wife. +1 for matching sets.

You have a decent CC you just said ya wanted a sw40ve and you already have a sw9ve with a crossbreed supertuck deluxe you can conceal a sigma pretty good I carry my sw40ve in a supertuck in the 5 oclock position and I'm a little guy works just fine.
