Guys, I am new to this and just purchased a M&P 15 sport and have enjoyed it so much that I am now adding accessories! My question is do I need a riser to add a Redfield tactical counter strike scope? I have a fixed front site. Any help would be appreciated....

Yes, I believe you will need a riser. I just added a primary arms 30mm red dot to mine and used a riser. After looking at the scope it appears to be of similar height. In order to clear the front sight, a riser will be required.

A riser is not needed for the Counterstrike, I switch mine from gas block to standard sight and back with no issues other than the laser will not work with the fixed sight. The Counterstrike will co-witness to most back up sights including the standard front. I hope I am reading the sight in question correctly.
