Firing pin is on the hammer face, no lock. I was told it was a forest service revolver. I will get it out and double check manana. Thanks. Also will take a couple of pictures. Are you sure it’s a -3 and not a -8?
Is there a firing pin on the hammer face or is the hammer face flat?
Does it have a lock above the cylinder release?

I’ve got a 64-6 that is frame firing pin, no lock and has crisp what I presume laser engraved model and SN

My 686-5 frame mounted pin but no lock has the punched looking type relatively neatly done.
