NFL: Which Non Home Team Do you Most Enjoy Watching?

I did not wish to insight such a visceral debate upon asking the question. Given the current situation in the NFL it appears that I unintentionally did. I'm sure the timing of the question around Veteran's day added fuel to the fire. For that I apologize.

The non home team I enjoy watching is the 67 Packers. Back then football was football not penalty ball or don't hit the quarterback to hard ball, there were no overpaid prima donnas and all the players respected the flag and our county.

I haven't watched a second of it this year. Don't really miss it. Went to the range yesterday and when I got home watched Bullitt with Steve McQueen. The car chase was better than any football on yesterday.

PLENTY OF WHINE, NO CHEESE.

No shortage of people needing to vent & share their feelings on this one. Thought I was at some kind of encounter group. How do you get from watching football to being a Hanoi Jane fan? A lot of hurt butts out there. Try a bath in Epsom salts, I'm gonna finish watching the Broncos/Patriots.

This all had nothing to do with Veterans Day, was brewing way before. Gave 4 years of my life, for what? Doesn’t look like the Browns will double their wins from last year but they specialize in one knee side shows. Sad!!!!!! Larry

I don't have a home team any more, having lost two. As such, I've reverted back to the team of my childhood, the home of Kenny Stabler, George Blanda, Fred Biletnikoff, Ray Guy, and Lester Hayes. And since the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas, I like 'em even more now. As for a non-home team, I like watching the Dallas Cowboys, as I'm eagerly awaiting the point at which Jerry Jones completely melts down on national television. A bad day for Jerry is a good day for me . . .

IBTL ! ! !

Houston Texans.

Because they have 3 former South Carolina players.

I lost interest in NFL teams a few years ago, even though I have been a fan for over 50 years. My interest now is in watching Gamecocks in the pros. So when I watched Broncos/Patriots game last night, my interest was in Darian Stewart and Stephon Gilmore. The Patriots used to be on my Never Watch list.

Below website has list of NFL players by college (though it isn't up to date). You can look up your school's players, and look for them in games.

NFL Players by College - S - National Football League - ESPN

This approach has me liking the preseason, because there are more SC players on the field before the cut as the season starts.

THAT WILL SHOW THEM.

As long as those hi priced ingrates disrespect this Nation and the Men and Women who have served it I will disrespect them and all of their sponsers. Those anti-American boys( not real men ) can do without ME.

Reacting exactly how the squatters want you to. They want the fist shaking, chest thumping, saber rattling, acknowledgement and publicity you are giving them. Best thing to do IMO would be to ignore them & continue your life as before, cuz THEY DON'T MATTER! Letting THEM dictate YOUR choices??? No thank you. If Kappernick had gotten no publicity we wouldn't be in this mess. He may not be playing ball now or ever, but his book/movie/place in history as a civil rights hero is assured. Financially he will do fine on the lecture & college commencement circuit right next to Barry, Michele, Bill. & Hillary. Why, because he got publicity & people like you all to react just the way you are.

I've not watched more than a couple of minutes of any NFL game in over 20 years. Probably the last team I followed was when John Elway was taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl.

I just don't get the attraction to the NFL and NBA and the obscene amount of money they make when the real heroes of this country have to scrape by and often fight just to get their earned benefits. But, that's just my personal opinion.

I remember those days. Oakland vs. Pittsburg... the outstanding players you mentioned pitted against L.C. Greenwood, Jack Ham, Mean Joe Green, Lynn Swan, Jack Lambert and Terry Bradshaw. We wanted to be Pittsburg back then in pick up games as we thought they were the good guys. Can you believe that! Those were the days. I miss them.

There are a lot of NFL people and sponsors that think the kneeling thing will be forgotten soon. I'm not one of them and enough people boycotting the games will eventually make a difference. I'm a bit shocked that so many young and old patriotic Americans are coming out of the woodwork to voice their displeasure with disrespecting the flag and National anthem, and it gives a me some new hope.

SO FAR WE HAVE ALL AGREED ON ONE THING

NOBODY HERE appreciates a squatter. I see it like a scab, if you keep picking at it, it will never heal & go away. Waiting for Roger Gooddel to grow a pair and enforce some code of conduct seems like it's gonna take a while.

You mentioned the word "Scab". I realize this is not the context you were writing about but do you remember the "Scab" league? I do. I applauded the NFL for firing all holdouts in favor of hiring C to B rated players on their roster. It was an anti union like we will never see again.

I REMEMBER TOO

YES! Time to enforce & update rules of conduct on/off the field & even not hire players with (violent/moral) felony records? Sure that would eliminate many good players. A big backlash over that I'm sure but at the least impose a very thorough (as the current buzzword used) Vetting process. It's a shame to throw out a full barrel of good apples for some bad ones. Some of the good ones are REAL GOOD role models and do tremendous charitable work. It's a shame to throw those good ones under the bus when they get lumped in with the "national felons league". Judge them individually not collectively if you must, or as the good book says judge NOT lest YOU be judged. Football was a big part of my youth & watching games was one of the very few things I could do with my father & get along. Super bowl Sunday was the best day of the year for me. When my little brother died suddenly exactly at kickoff on super bowl sunday 2004, (some people have no consideration) I couldn't watch a game for a good 10 years. Peyton Manning going to Denver helped draw me back in & I'll be damned If I let ANY piece of garbage get between me & enjoying a game, if that's what I want to do. Maybe that's why I have such strong feelings on the subject. Do what YOU feel is right.
