Night Guard Holster

I received my 386 Night Guard yesterday (7-shot Scandium L frame). With just a little massaging of the holster for the front sight my Barranti CCR fits perfectly. Doc Barranti built this holster for me a few years back to fit a custom 3” Model 65.
Here are some photos with the Model 65 and with the new Night Guard. 1.99 pounds loaded with the holster!
The 640 I’ve been carrying in a Kramer holster is 1.90 pounds.

Probably just my lackluster photography skills!
It’s actually a very light trim design. Tucks the gun up tight and close to the body. Made from a single piece of leather. Much smaller than a pancake style.
Here are photos of it next to one of Ken Nulls horsehide scabbards built for a 3” K frame. Which is also a fine holster.

I have a couple of Simply Rugged holsters. While the quality is great, my only complaint is that like most pancake holsters for guns with barrels over about 2 1/2”, the lower part is so wide and low enough that they block access to one or the other of my pants pockets on the gun side.

Surely not knocking Barranti leather but as can be seen you have 3 layers of leather between your pants and the inside of the holster verses 2 layers for the Null. It's hard to beat the Null Speed Scabbard for flat and tight to the body with a, for me, perfect draw angle and ride height. I mean drop your hand and it's on the grip. Now if he would just make it that snaps on and off. His cross draws are good as well. Ken is in his 80's IIRC so I expect to hear any day he has retired.
