IMO, chrome lined barrels should be left on the battle fields. I prefer Nitride over chrome any day. But, that's just my .2 cents.....

Went fast was very interesting and the most informative interview about barrels I have seen !! I just bought my first S&W AR 15 and had wondered about the difference ..

Interesting the Nitrate is better for most shooting .. but chrome lined for faster continuous such as machine gun or as others have said the battle field ..

Had never heard of a variable twist rate in a barrel either .. would like to hear/learn more on that ..

Boy, I remember when S&w came out with Melonite (nitride) coating. The debates that raged on about it were interesting to say the least. It's been around for a very long time
