Is it true the scandium 1911s don't have ramped barrels? I heard bad things on alloy frames with no ramped on the barrels. I see Sig & Springfield have ramped barrels on some 1911s. Not sure about Kimber. If true, I would be interested to knowing how your scandium 1911 is holding up?
Thanks

My 1911PC RB SC doesn't have a ramped barrel but it does have a very nice ramp cut into the frame. I have not experienced any FTFs or FTEs through 1000ish rounds. The only complaint is that the black finish wears off easily. Otherwise I love it.

Mine doesn't have a ramped barrel either nor does my PC1911 in .45ACP but my PC1911 Doug Koenig edition in .38 Super does. I suppose that's because the smaller chamber opening of the .38 Super needs more than the barrel chamfering for dependable chambering of rounds.

As far as durability, I can't speak to that as I bought my Sc gun as a potential carry piece, not a frequent shooter. The other two see a lot more range time.

I do not own a 45ACP S&W alloy framed 1911, but I do own and shoot many 1911s with alloy frames.

I have been shooting them for 3+ decades with no problems

NONE of them have ever had a ramped barrel.

There is no inherent problem or design flaw with alloy frames, high quality is high quality no matter what the material

Got a pair of SC 1911's one is about 5 years old, the frame ramps seem to be standing up just fine, I am going to guess the older one has over 3K+ rounds including lots of JHP stuff and even several hundred all copper JHP rounds that would tear it up if something was going to.

I think Scandium alloy might be a lot harder that the old Coltalloy aluminum where people used to see light weight frame's ramp get eaten up over time.

1911SC with over 6,000 rounds and no problems. Mostly RN reloads but it likes Federal Hi-Shok JHP and HST. It does not like Winchester Ranger RA45T. Ramp looks fine.
