I like Klondike! I like the original flavor best but the caramel flavor is good too!:D

I was not sure I would like it, but after seeing the 1st segment, I wanted to see the last part and forgot about it until the last 15 minutes. I'll have to wait for the re-run.

Well I watched it all three nights and it was OK. More like a Canadian version of Deadwood.:D

Another thing I noticed the opening music was very similar to the score from Game Of Thrones and the moving map was also quite similar!

It was ok but could have been a lot better. I don't think they maximized what that story could have been. But then it's just a 3 part mini series.

So far so good. A lot of historical characters intermingled with the plot line. I do like the realism of the mud, filth, and general despair of the populace. The segment regarding the lack of wood is a little known fact of mining days. Here in Colorado, so many ghost towns disappeared simply because the remaining miners tore down and burnt the abandoned building as firewood in the years following the boom. A great book "Colorado, A Summer Trip" written in 1866, describes the area of modern day Blackhawk and Central City, which was in a mining boom in 1866, as being totally void of any trees for many miles. Today this area has regrown into the dense pine forest of the pre boom days. Also I like seeing something other than a Colt revolver in a movie. I believe the main character is shooting a Remington model 1875 IIRC.

I had the exact same thoughts about Game of Thrones similarities.
Also agree on Deadwood comparison. Great minds . . .

They actually got most of the weapons right. The main character uses a Remington and Belinda Mulrooney, the business woman, actually uses a S&W. What really impressed me is the Superintendant's (of the local RCMP garrison) use of a revolver that was correct for the Mounties at that time - I believe it was the Enfield .476 Mark II though I could be wrong on that. Very distinctive revolver and it's the only time I can ever remember seeing one in a film. Long arms included 1873 Winchesters and a Remington-Hepburn - all very interesting stuff.

My wife buys me the "Heath" flavor! :D

I have not watched a Discovery show since they went "reality".

How fake do you have to be to draw viewers?

Rant over.

It's just a drama. Not documentary. Not a reality show.
Just fictional entertainment. I have a degree in history. I appreciate accuracy as much as the next guy but sometimes you just need to sit back with a beer and enjoy the show.
