I am really a Colt guy but I had to have these. Not sure of the age so I am not sure if this is the correct section. I wiped the cosmoline off one gun. Not sure if I am going to wipe the 2nd gun down.

Nice acquisition!

Of course, you thoroughly lubricate the guns with a good CLP (I like Eezox), consider using a high grade wood oil on the stocks (I like Pledge Restoration Oil) before putting them away. Maybe even wax them with Renaissance Wax.

That will not adversely affect collector value, and will significantly enhance the chances that the guns will age gracefully.

I have CLP break free/Rem Oil and Hoppes gun oil.... and I do have some Ren Wax. I dont have the Pledge Resto Oil, but thats a good idea, thanks.

I agree, Tom!!! I have a lot of Colts, and they get along very well with the Smiths in my collection. That is my definition of "diversity"!!! Liking both Smith and Wessons and Colts!!!
