This is one of those take a shot and hope for the best deals. This gun was listed in Jim Supica's OTS Dispatch for the last few issues. I almost bought it a couple of times but had to question why noone else did. So when Jim got the new job and liquidated at auction, this one went. Took a shot on a bid and got it. Now that I have it, if I had seen it in person before, I gladly would have paid catalog price. I couldn't have been more pleased when I opened the box. Jim's photos did not do it justice at all. (No offense in case you read this, Jim.)
It was listed as "matte satin blue over crisp Russell Smith full coverage scroll engraving."
Well it almost shows as French grey depending on the light. It really is pretty sharp.
Thanks for the comments all. And you're right, I probably won't shoot this one. At least not till my birthday anyway.
I was made in 1954. They made some excellent stuff that year! Seriously, that is a beautiful revolver and I would feel very lucky to have it if it were mine.
