Finally got in a range trip to function test some semi-auto pistols. Just to make it different, I didn't take anything that could be called a classic J M Browning design when it comes to operation. Bet that doesn't happen every day.:D

The top row shows two guns where the lock and unlocking is achieved using rotating barrels. A Grand Power Q100 is on the left, and a Mauser M2 on the right.

In the middle is an Arsenal Strike One using the Bergmann lock up system.

The pistols on the bottom row both use gas-delayed blowback. On the left is a Steyr GB with its gas brake system made up using an elongated barrel bushing that fits around the barrel. To the right is a Walther CCP M2 that using a piston system like an HK P7.

I remember wanting a Steyr GB when they first came out. That is one honkin' big pistol.

Yes it is.:D The one in the picture is an early commercial model with the crinkle finish.

I also own one of the 937 military variants that were imported. That has a sort of gray phosphate finish. Came up on GB (no pun intended) close to Christmas one year and I got it cheap with two magazines.
