Now I know why there is an opiod epidemic

I get 90 7.5/325 per month. My back is pretty screwed up. I don't know how I could still work without something. I've tried injections in my back, exercise, therapy...nothing works. These take the edge off but I still live in constant pain. I don't get high from them; I don't sell them. I'm gonna retire inside of a year so maybe I'll be in less pain. They are kept locked in my one gun safe. Anyhow, if you have to dispose of them, pour coffee grinds on them on a paper plate and then throw it away. That's what the nurse told us to do with my mother-in-law's pills. I really don't believe pain pills are as much an epidemic as the heroin users who are dying from fentinyl-laced smack. Our laws in PA are pretty strict. The Docs & Pharmacists are all on the same page. If I wanna get high, I'll try to find some pot. Where? I have no idea!!

Might need to keep that ****...

You never can tell when we'll have the next apocalypse.

.

Dave, in the almost 5 years I've been taking Norco I have had a lot of good days where I didn't need my full dosage so I have been putting the extras back for any possible interruption in my supply chain.

I should weather an EMP just fine.

My dentist prescriptions are always forms of opioids. I finally told him no I didn't want anymore of them. I think I have three bottles of them. I think I have only taken maybe 3 pills total over a years time. I didn't know they were opioids till the last time I got them the pharmacist gave me a substance and bag to dispose of what I didn't use. Then I read the warning information that said it contained opioids. Nope I am not taking them. I agree selling them I could end up in jail so that isn't going to happen. Some reports say a few taken will not cause any harm but other reports state that isn't true for everyone.
I say if I don't want to be addicted to a drug then don't take the first one.

I was written a prescription to Vicoden for a cut finger - granted 6 stitches, but I told them I didn't want it - and they were really enthusiastic about how much I really would want it later when it started to hurt. It never hurt, but I did try one of the pills. 1/2 hour after taking it - I was at my brothers house, and I sat at his Kitchen table and sweated like it was 140 degrees for 20 minutes, just dripping - like never before or since. I don't think I will or should ever take anything like that again - even when you know - I might need something like that for a cut on my finger.

Fishslayer, I've had kidney stones about 4 times in my life. Believe me, a 7.5 Percoset doesn't put a scratch on that pain! Whatever they shot into me the last time in the ER, after they saw the stone in me, worked like all get out! Still, it wasn't something they are just gonna give me a script for! They fixed me and sent me home 2 days later. Point is, about this entire post, if you need help with your pain, the doctors know how much and when to stop prescribing. Just like I need a clean background check to get a new gun &/or my CC card, my MRIs show the screwed up discs in my back. I hope you never have any more kidney stones, too! I mean that to everybody, too! If pain meds make one sick or bad reaction, tell the doctor. They have all kinds of stuff that help for some people that don't give bad reactions. Good health to all...
