Now is a good time to purchase magazines

If you think you might want to get one or more magazines for your semi-automatic firearm(s), now is a very good time.

Magazines are available at relatively non-inflated prices, and there are no Federal restrictions that I know of on purchase, sale, shipment or possession. Some states do have restrictions and some of these restrictions are harsh.

Tragic recent events involving the slaughter of innocent victims make a push for Federal regulation of magazines more likely. I would not be surprised by loud and shrill calls to require a NICS check for magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. I can even imagine a law which would prohibit the purchase of any additional magazines if you already had three of that same type -- who could possibly need more than three 10 round 5.56 NATO type magazines. Whether the push will lead to new law being enacted is uncertain, but noise about regulating/restricting/banning magazines could lead to a run that would deplete the current supply and raise prices considerably.

I'm good on magazines. I have some for my 1911s, my S&W 3913, a couple of rifles that I own, etc. Oh, and they are all "Safe Act" compliant! Have to keep Andy Cuomo happy! :D

Thanks for the tip - a word to the wise……..
This will just be another political "theater of concern" with the appropriate "perceptions of action" reaction to this latest terrible event that won't really change a thing.

People killing people goes back to Cain and Able. All that changes is the political hay made from it. I could use a couple of 3913 mages and PPK/S 22 L mags to be sure, not to mention Marlin XT-22 LR magazines, but half the fun is sometimes in the hunt. I think actual relative scarcity not the law is why I do not have them or will have problems in the future since all are 10 rounds or less.

I prefer the AR15 5-round magazines. Any other AR15
magazine is too cumbersome and a pain to carry
in my AR15.

I would rather buy Primers for my Reloading, that's
a better use of my money!

Here's a 20-rounder, but haven't tried it yet.

With daughter #1 starting Practical Shooting, grabbed 3 more 19 rnd Mec-Gar mags for the CZ SP-01 (now her gun). Got some 15 rounders for the Rami as well. Good to go. :)

Got plenty for my pistols...except my 6906, only have 2 for that.

Got boxes full of AR and AK mags.

Bought 10 more D&H AR mags a little while back just because they were on sale, and great mags. I have a lot more old GI mags.

Truly the bottom line, that really aggravates the anti-gunners. If a large enough number of the voting population wanted them gone, then the laws would substantially change, and the 2nd would be gone.

But that's not the case. Pockets change things locally, but it is NOT the universal will of the People.

Funny old thing, but I just ordered some. Weird thing is they all take eight rounds or less.

I agree that last year was a better time, but there is no time like the present.

The one thing people are not talking about is this tragedy occurred in spite of some of the strictest rules in America. This in and of itself should make a statement. You can't legislate safety.

What we really need in this country is a law that makes killing people illegal. That'll stop all these mass shootings.
According to Senator Feinstein and I quote "We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it's legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150- round magazines." End quote March 2013 before the Senate Judiciary Committee. You can't make this stuff up. And to think she represented me for most of my adult life.

I wish S&W would order and release another batch of mags for the Model 3913 (for a reasonable price). I ordered ten of them a couple years ago from MidwayUSA and they were back-ordered for quite awhile until one day I received an email advising the order was canceled.

Do they ever wonder why there aren't more deaths in gun stores, what with all the dangerous guns around?
