What’s this nonsense in the package about a competent gunsmith?

That cylinder should be headed to TK Custom after a test fit

The reason for that comment is CYA for the company because there are too many "Bubbas" out there that think just because they own a kitchen table, vise, a couple of files and screwdrivers that they are gunsmiths! They don't know who they are sending tools to.:mad::mad:

The one an only time I tried working on the kitchen table resulted in a roll pin being driven out of an AR15 receiver and into the table enough that it was stuck there.

I spent the next weekend fixing the table....

I would have been tempted to shave it flush and polish the end till it shined, but I sense you weren't the aesthetic coordinator on this job.:D

They label most parts for many items (non gun items as well) like that as to limit their liability. This way if you do it yourself and screw it up - they are "less liable" because they told you on the label to use a Pro. Personally I have a lot more faith in myself than just about any Gun Smith I know of. Many GS's are focused on "time is money" and they don't spend enough time on the fine details as far as I am concerned. Some are just butcher's! When I do my own work time is not a factor. If it takes me 5 times longer to do something I don't care as long as the final results are what I want. I will also redo something if I am not satisfied with what I have done. The words, "good enough" are just not in my vocabulary! While I may not be the most talented Gun Smith in the Country, none of them cares as much about my guns as I do!

it's boiler plate. They are just covering themselves. you install it, something isn't right they aren't held responsible

Ok ok it was just a joke. I’m currently enrolled in the STHM school of Gunsmithing, working towards my 4th banana so things should be good.

A job's degree of difficulty in STHM terms:

1 banana = easy
2 bananas = moderately difficult
3 bananas = pushing the limits of a stock howler monkey; opposable thumbs only get you so far
4 bananas = requires the ability to communicate abstract ideas to other howler monkeys.
5 bananas = the job should only be attempted by a professional orangutan
