Another simple target idea we usually employ is to take the cheapest generic 5 lb. bags of bleached wheat flour (i.e. white flour) you can find and wrap it in one layer of duct tape. Then drape a sturdy piece of string a few feet long over the top and wrap again in one more layer covering over the section of string. Tie the two ends of the string together and you have a loop to hang the bag of flour from. We use steel flower pot stakes curved at the top to hang the bag of flour on. Every time you hit it you will know because there will be a puff of white powder. For .38 special it will last for about 50-100 rounds. Much easier to see you have a hit compared to paper targets.

For more fun, slit the top of the flour bag, remove a little flour, and maneuver a container of Tannerite to the bottom. Then mark the bag of flour on the outside with a sticker or marker where the Tannerite is in the bag. Use the least amount of duct tape to secure a loop to the bag. Hang it. Shoot it. Watch a big plume of white powder.

I can't think that fast, let alone move my finger that fast.

Another fun target, take your water bottles, break some chemlights, cut them open, and empty them into the water bottles. About dusk, you can see them glow, and when you hit them, the shower is illuminated rather nicely. :D

Old used up aluminum Teflon pans hung by wire=plenty of action, and they will take a lickin' You can spray paint a dot in them, and even when they are shot up bad, you can still put paper plates in them with a little tape.

Not sure how we got headed down the path of weird targets, but OK. Those are some cool ideas.

Alas, at my range no personal targets allowed. We have to use the stands provided. Stuff like the pans and flour are completely off the menu. Since I'm the Vice President it would be very bad form to not follow the rules. :)

We get old fruit and veggies from the store for almost no cost. No clean up and fun to watch.

I watch a lot of his videos. I just saw the one where he hits a 1000 yard target with a 9mm revolver. He said he had to adjust his aim over 100 feet high, to allow for the bullet drop. Very amazing. I have also seen a video where he hits the target with a stock Shield at over 200 yards. At that distance the sight would completely hide the target.

Miculek is the real deal. He's a freak of nature. Lots of fun to watch.
