NRA moving to Texas

Based on the information contained in the story, the donor has a TOUGH row to hoe. The NY attorney General has an even tougher one. 2021 from what little I've seen looks to be more of the same.
I sold three guns last year. I ain't selling any more-that's for damn sure

I would like to see who is taking the haircut. My original impression was that the filing was purely to re-incorporate, thus stalling the NY litigation. Once the NRA incorporates in TX the NY AG will no longer having a cause of action.

I have a feeling the legal bills are piling up.

I'm not a businessman or a lawyer but my NRA membership is paid up till March 31 2024. I am 69 years old now, and I will re-up for a few more years then if I'm still here. Keeping my grocery money for now. Curious as to how it all will turn out. Meanwhile, just stay out of my yard.

Don't know much about laws, but I am glad the NRA is moving to a gun friendly state, just like Me. Leaving CO and going to SoDak. Actually where I grew up.

It's good news that the NRA is leaving NYS. I can, however, see NYS spinning this as a "WIN" for them. I hope we (our NRA) can put a positive spin on this first.

As a New Yorker myself, the state will probably try to put a positive spin on the fact that high earners and those with significant assets, are also leaving the state.

I don't understand why the NRA or for that matter most any business would be in NY, or a few other specific states. Yes I know the NRA started there 100 plus years ago, but why stay in a business/political climate like NY.

You're almost seven years expired . . .

I'm pretty sure you have to have a physical presence in a state when you file your articles of incorporation. The Missouri Secretary of State was mighty interested in where I was gonna be getting my mail . . .
Everything I've seen says they are not physically moving to Texas and are keeping the Headquarters in Virginia. What is changing is the state of incorporation which is what establishes the legal personhood of the corporation.

You can have a registered agent. There are companies that do this for a fee as well as many attorneys provide this service to have a physical presence in the state.
